The Power of One - Series.

For this project we had to chose a series of six images and each should represent something like war, conflict, rascism etc.

I chose this image because it shows many different races and people all together and as one. They are all equal.

I chose this image because Nelson Mandela made a huge difference in South Africa, he himself went through a tough time and managed to change a country and become a big leader and role model to people of South Africa and all over the world.

This image also shows that many races are the same and should be treated the same way, unlike how it was during Apartheid.

This image shows people fighting for their rights and trying to make a difference, which they did by ending Apartheid.

This image shows the culture of South Africa, and the pride that everyone has.

This is the war of South Africa and shows the battle and fighting of people trying to help their own country, South Africa.

The Power of One - Movie Poster.

For this project we were told to just re-make a movie poster for the movie The Power of One. I used a sunset at the bottom because in the movie Peekay was very inspired with nature and he it was a big part of his life. I then used some images from the movie on the outside of the number one, and the flag in the middle is the South African flag, waving proudly after Apartheid was over because of what had happened on the outside of the one, it's everything that happened on the outside that made the impact to change South Africa. I really enjoyed the project and the movie, since i am from South Africa. It was a very inspiring and touching movie and i really put thoughts into how i put this project together.

Power of One - Text Illustrations.

I really enjoyed making this project because i am from South Africa, though i was not familiar with what life was like in Apartheid i still know a lot about it. The text i used is in another South African language that i actually speak, called Afrikaans. The word moed means courage. Then i put pictures inside the letters representing South Africa today, it looks different because Apartheid has ended and because South Africa's people had courage through this hard time they faced. For the back ground i just took the map of South Africa and desaturated it to make the words stand out more.

Color Wheel 2

This project has to do with winter and snow, in South Africa we don't get snow so this is special cause i've never ben able to make a project with my own pictures of snow, the images in the templates are all my own, as we were told to use for this project. The images have all been taking since December 2012 through 2013. Most of them are from when we went to Vail, Colorado for Winter Break. I did not pur filters on the largest snowflake because the colors captured in the picture are all colorful, it is actually a rack of skiis and snowboards. The back ground is just a gradient with i used filter on to change the color. I really enjoyed making the Color Wheel.
